This page is where I describe what I’m up to and I’ll update it periodically.

Updated 2025/11/21.

I’m working on my turfwar.org game. That site is out of date but won’t be updated until I’m ready to open it up to beta testing. This is a screenshot of the web page as it stands.

Turfwar development map page.

The map is 50 x 50 locations and you can click on the minimap to relocate it or use the first column of buttons to move left right etc. The green dots in the top left are the initial areas that you own. Most locations are low or high density residence but there are parks, airports, factories, commercial areas and near one edge there are sea and docks. You build your turf by capturing nearby locations, setting up businesses there, building up your gang etc.

This is a postal strategy game with up to 100 players per game. You can attack, rob, or recruit new soldiers into your gang. The postal part of the game means that you create orders and submit them on the orders page. After a certain time period- typically two or three hours, all orders are processed and when you next login you can see the results and enter your next set of orders. This is how postal (Play by Mail- PBM) games used to run only it’s now all done on the web. I designed and programmed PBM games in the past including the original Quest postal RPG which KJCGames.com runs.

Game play is free for one game at a time and you’ll always be able to play one game free. For £20 a year you’ll be able to play in any number of Turfwar games or other games (once developed).

Curently I’m fleshing out the web client.

Technologies: Running on a Linux VPS, the client is programmed in Flutter/Dart, the backend is in PHP and the program to process turns are written in Dart.
